This tutorial will guide the audience through the basics of Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) and will showcase step-by-step instructions on using WAWF for web-entry screens for submitting data to the IUID Registry and maintaining the data.

9:00am - 9:45am (Concurrent sessions) FPDS Report and Extract Capabilities (this session will be repeated)

The Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) offers various ways of accessing and using data reported for contract actions. This session will review the capabilities of standard and ad hoc reports available in FPDS; and provide tips for accessing and using the data. This session will also cover DoD annual data validation and certification requirements.

Contracting Officer's Representative Tool (this session will be repeated)

This session will discuss new requirements regarding the tracking of (CORs). It will also discuss features of the new COR Tool that has begun deployment across the Department.

What's the Latest in WAWF? (this session will be repeated)

The session will also cover enhancements in the new release of the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) system. This session will also cover emerging policy and process changes in the contract receipt and acceptance process that require new actions from the contracting officer.

SPS Upcoming Service Releases – Functional Update (this session will be repeated)

This session will cover the enhancements provided in SR11-13 from a functional perspective. It will cover specific new utilities available within the SPS suite to include Document Transfer, External Award Transfer, and Archiving.

SAM Entity Management (Phase 1) - CCR, ORCA, and EPLS Capabilities (this session will be repeated)

The Integrated Acquisition Environment has begun the effort to redesign its current systems into one integrated tool set called the System for Award Management (SAM). This session will cover details about the first release in SAM that will subsume the capabilities currently provided by the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database, Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA), and the Excluded Parties Listing System (EPLS).


Subcontracting Achievements and eSRS Reporting (this session will be repeated)

DoD deployed the use of the Electronic Subcontracting Reporting System (eSRS) in FY09 to collect on-line the semi-annual Subcontracting Reports for Individual Contracts and Summary Subcontract Reports from our vendor community. Come learn about the lessons learned, emerging policies for reviewing reported subcontracting achievements, and how to use the information reported to improve overall contract performance.

Centralizing Clause Logic (this session will be repeated)

DoD has begun the effort to establish a centralized authoritative source for the logic that determines when provisions and clauses are included in solicitation and contracts. This session will discuss the process being used to review all of the FAR prescriptions as well as provide a demonstration of the centralized clause logic service that is being developed.

The Integrated Acquisition Environment’s new System for Award Management (SAM) will affect the way government and contractor users will interact with IAE capabilities. This session will cover the various government and contractor roles and permissions in the system, and the Component and office system administration responsibilities.


Tips for Contract Data Compliance in SPS

This session will cover the lessons learned from the pilot implementations of the procurement data standard (PDS) at selected SPS sites and Electronic Document Access (EDA). It will address several of the simple procedural changes that can be made in contract writing processes to enable your site to avoid common pitfalls and become PDS compliant in data sent to EDA and other interfacing systems.

Past Performance and Integrity Data (this session will be repeated)

This session will cover the new federal and Department regulations and policies regarding past performance and responsibility information. This session will also discuss the related new requirements for use of the Contractor Performance Assessment Rating System (CPARS), Past Performance Information Retrieval System (PPIRS), and the new Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System (FAPIIS).


SPS Upgrades (this session will be repeated)

This session will focus on changes in the SPS upgrade package process, hardware requirements, hardware configurations, AEG Utility, etc. It is intended for system administrators and those supporting the operations and maintenance of SPS at their site.

The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) (also known as the Transparency Act) introduced a new era of government transparency and associated data validation requirements. This session will discuss lessons learned to date, current implementation of prime contractor reporting requirements, updates to Federal Procurement Data System reporting requirements, and the contracting officer’s role in ensuring accurate reporting is accomplished.

The Integrated Acquisition Environment’s new System for Award Management (SAM) will affect the way the government, contractors, and grantees will do business with the government. It will consolidate nine existing capabilities, such as the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps), and the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), into a new platform. This session will provide an overview of the SAM effort, as well as an update regarding the current status of implementation.

The Department continues to place a special focus on improving contract quality and ensuring compliance with the FAR, DFARS, and policy. This session will address upcoming changes to the FAR and DFARS to reflect new statutes and federal and DoD policies.

The proper construction of line items in contracts is essential to both conform to Federal Acquisition Regulations, and to ensure the smooth flow and visibility of data later on in the procurement process. In this session, the speakers will discuss common question areas on line item construction and provide guidelines and regulatory references for their solutions. They will also discuss new initiatives to improve how line items are created in the Department as a result of the DoD Blackbelt study on contract construction.
